1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that allow websites to remember information about you between visits.
How They Work:
- Sent by the server to your browser on the first visit
- Stored locally on your computer/phone
- Automatically resent to the server on future visits
- Expire after a defined period (days, months, or when you close the browser)
Alternatives to Cookies:
We also use similar technologies to store preferences:
- localStorage: Permanent browser storage (until manually cleared)
- sessionStorage: Storage only during the current session
- Web Beacons: Small pixels for event tracking
2. Cookie Categories
Cookies are categorized according to their purpose:
Essential:
Required for the panel to work. Cannot be disabled without losing functionality.
- On the site (ascent.app.br): no mandatory first-party cookie
- In the panel (painel.ascent.app.br): the login session cookie (sb_refresh_token) and local storage of your chosen theme and language
Measurement:
Help us understand how the site is used, without identifying you.
- Umami: anonymous count of pages and events. It does not use cookies.
Marketing:
Used to measure and optimize ads.
- Meta Pixel, loaded on the product pages (home, /addin/, and /detail/), sets the _fbp and _fbc cookies
3. Cookies Used by Ascent
Here is the list of cookies and local storage that Ascent uses:

Note: Umami, which we use for measurement, does not set cookies. Third parties such as Supabase and Meta may use additional cookies as per their policies.
4. Third-Party Cookies
Some services integrated with Ascent use their own cookies:
Supabase (Database):
- Purpose: Authentication and session management
- Cookies: sb_refresh_token
- Privacy Policy: https://supabase.com/privacy
Meta (Meta Pixel):
- Purpose: Measure and optimize ads on the product pages
- Cookies: _fbp, _fbc
- Privacy Policy: https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy
5. How to Manage/Disable Cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. In the browser settings, look for Cookies and site data. Official guides:
Impact of disabling essential cookies:
- You will not be able to log in to the panel
- Theme and language preferences will be lost
- Some Ascent features will not work
Recommendation: Keep essential cookies enabled and block only marketing cookies, if you prefer.
6. Changes to This Policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements.
When We Update:
- Addition of new essential cookies: email notification
- Third-party changes (Supabase, Meta): automatic update
- Technical improvements: published without prior notice
